When Kom plunges from his home high in the tree-tops, he seems destined for certain death. But a lucky fall and a whim of the King mean that he is instead transported, alive, into the monkey castle. Terrified when he first regains consciousness because the monkeys who saved him wear clothes and walk upright, he quickly becomes the King’s favourite, and falls in love with Gina. They uncover Sebastian’s plot to overthrow the King, kill his daughter the Princess, and seize power, and despite numerous setbacks, they save the day and climb up together to Kom’s family to put an end once and for all to the centuries of prejudice and fear which divide the two monkey nations.
